Black necked grebe

24/04/2018
On my way back home from Fairburn Ings I decided to drop in to Potteric Carr from some lunch. As I was sitting looking through the window drinking my coffee the rain came faster. I had to make the decision whether to walk round the reserve or go straight home. I decided to walk round the reserve to see if I could see the reported black necked grebe. I got rather damp walking to the area where they had been reported and when I arrived there was no sign of my quarry. I waited in the hide for quite a while but I saw noting of the grebes. The rain was coming down even faster now so I decided to pack my camera and leave. However, as I went round a corner I saw, through the rain, what I though were two little grebes. I lifted my camera and looked so that I could see them a little clearer and saw that they were the black necked grebes. Good result.
